Ray’s, which debuted in 2019, is opening a second location in the infamous space on 905 Lorimer Street formerly occupied by Cool World. Celebrities are said to frequent the establishment including partial owners actors Nicholas Braun, best known for his role as Greg on HBO’s Succession, and Justin Theroux, who will reportedly not be involved with the new location, according to local blog Greenpointers. Other celebrities reported to grace the establishment include Gigi Hadid, Dave Chappelle and Antoni Porowski, according to a glossy Vogue profile from 2020.

The team told Greenpointers that the Brooklyn outpost will offer “tasty food, great drinks and good times.”

Despite being the product of a collaboration among top-tier New York City restaurateurs, including Jon Neidich of Golden Age Hospitality – a premiere group that is behind numerous concepts including but not limited to ACME and Deux Chats – Ray’s is billed as a dive bar.

“We wanted to create something that was a great hometown hangout—a place for people to go without any pretension,” Neidich told Vogue.

Neidich also has a few other forthcoming concepts including a new bar in the space formerly occupied by the East Village’s The Boiler Room and a new French restaurant in Greenwich, as previously reported by What Now New York.
