The team describe their unnamed bar and tavern concept as “a great neighborhood spot which welcomes guests of all orientations and genders, and like Boiler Room is welcoming to all.”

After nearly four decades in the neighborhood, the landmark gay bar was reportedly forced to shut down in early fall because of a rent dispute with their landlord. Thankfully, it will be relocating just around the corner next year, as previously reported by What Now New York.

The new concept’s aims to emulate the former establishment in others way, such as proposing the same hours of operation of 5 p.m. to 4 a.m. from Monday through Sunday. It is also slated to offer 21 tables with 42 seats, as well as one 13-foot bar with 12 seats.

It’s proposed menu includes chicken noodle soup for $10, sandwiches ranging from caprese to croque monsieur to banh mi for $14, and cocktails ranging from a cosmopolitan to a moscow mule for $16, as well as beers including Peroni and Miller High Life for $6 and wine for $14.

Golden Age Hospitality was founded by Jon Neidich and a team of industry leaders with decades of experience back in 2012.

The group owns and operates a handful of iconic restaurants and nightlife bars including Le Dive in the Lower East Side, The Happiest Hour in the West Village, The Nines in Noho, ACME in Noho and Deux Chats in Brooklyn.

The application for the space was submitted by CEO Neidich and Craig Atlas. Craig is a managing partner at the group who has over 25 years of experience working in the New York City hospitality scene. He has served as the general manager for Il Buco, Il Buco Alimentari, ACME Bar & Grill, The Nines and Elephante.
