The concept was described by the team as an “American cafe” with proposed menu items ranging from an oyster and clams raw bar to burgers, as well as offering spirits such as wine, beer and cider. Housed on the ground floor of a five-story mixed-use building, it’s slated to offer 12 tables with 36 seats and one stand up bar.

Its proposed hours of operation are 5 p.m. to midnight on Monday to Tuesday, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. from Wednesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and 11 p.m. until midnight on Sunday.

Proposed menu items include appetizers ranging from pickles for $5 to chicken liver mousse with pear jam for $8, raw bar items like oysters for $24-$40, little neck clams with horseradish for $18 and gulf prawn cocktail with smoked cocktail sauce for $15, an arugula salad with celeriac and apples for $12, fried maitake mushrooms with buttermilk dressing for $16 and big eye tuna with leeks and capers for $18.

The space was formerly occupied by Luz Cafe, which was a female-owned and family-run coffee house.
