Krab Queenz Seafood was founded by Louisiana-based restaurateur Tonique Clay in 2017. Mississippi-born but Louisiana-raised, Tonique’s creative vision is defined by her “Country Cajun” upbringing, which exposed her long ago to the powerful flavor profiles of Cajun-styled seafood. With specialty sauces and spices handcrafted from Tonique’s kitchen, Krab Queenz seeks to create a culinary experience that can only be described as “SO DAMN GOOD.”

As the first Cajun restaurant to fuse seafood boils with the fun of creative daiquiris, Krab Queenz exploded in popularity as it earned a reputation for superior guest experiences, quality and succulent dishes, and over-the-top parties hosted by live DJs. Fusing together delicious Louisiana-style seafood with a dynamic and invigorating atmosphere, Krab Queenz is known for serving up a great time for every guest.

Today, the popular restaurant boasts six locations across the country, including two in Houston and one in Atlanta. Now though, New Yorkers will finally be able to get a taste of the southern sensation that has been steadily rocking the country’s tastebuds. Krab Queenz is now planning to open a brand new restaurant in Harlem (and their first in the Northeast) at 100 West 125th Street. Replacing the former Olive Garden that used to occupy the space, the location offers an impressive 10,500 square feet of space, and will occupy the second floor of the Wharton Properties building

Krab Queenz struck a 6-year sublease with restaurant conglomerate Darden Restaurants, known for representing iconic American brands like Longhorn Steakhouse and Seasons 52. Tonique Clay said of the deal that “Harlem is the Black Mecca of the world, as an African woman I thought it would be a great move for the brand,” according to the Commercial Observer. The new restaurant will be joining a slew of recognizable brands at the space, such as Whole Foods market, American Eagle, and Bath & Body Works. At the Moment, Tonique and the Krab Queenz team are expecting to launch the new restaurant during the second quarter of 2022.

Can’t wait for them to open. Much needed. I’ll be there. I’m telling everyone.
