Roberta’s Pizza got its start a few years ago serving up Neapolitan slices out of Bushwick. Locals loved their crispy crust, flavorful sauce, and their unique takes on traditional pizza. Their most popular pizzas include the Bee Sting, which features tomato, mozzarella, chili, and honey, and the Crispy Glover, which features taleggio, guanciale, onion, breadcrumbs, and chili.

Roberta’s Pizza is owned by Brandon Hoy, Chef Carlo Mirachi, Alexander Solovey, and Pasquale De Benedicts. Beyond their pizza, Roberta’s is known for hosting lively events in their spacious outdoor garden like “fight night”, where customers compete for Roberta’s swag over games of Smash Bros, Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter. For the introverted pizza lovers (of which we know there are many), Roberta’s also freezes their specialty pizzas and makes them available for delivery across the city.

Previously only available in Brooklyn, Roberta’s already has a location in Bushwick and in Domino Park. Now though, it appears that the team is expanding their presence into Manhattan. According to a community board questionnaire uncovered by a What Now New York investigation, Roberta’s Pizza will be opening up a brand new location at 15 Avenue A, in Alphabet City.

The new Roberta’s would be replacing a now-defunct dentist’s office. This would be their first Manhattan location, putting Roberta’s squarely between East Houston and 2nd street. Roberta’s will be enjoying good company, opening next door to the popular bar The Library, and across the street from a much more casual 99 cent pizza joint.

While the Roberta’s team gears up to open their new Avenue A location, their other stores remain operational. If you’d like a taste of what the future has to offer, than be sure to visit their Bushwick or Domino Park locations, or just get a frozen pizza delivered right to your house and skip the hassle of a subway ride.
