Jay and Raquel Jadeja, the entrepreneurial spirits behind the popular Sea Cliff, New York gastropub, The Onion Tree, are set to broaden their culinary horizons with the introduction of a new Italian eatery, The Onion Tree Pizza Co.
Slated to open its doors in the East Village in spring 2024, the restaurant promises a unique blend of flavors and experiences, emphasizing “Pizza + Wings + Kababs + Rock ‘n Roll,” Co-Owner Jay Jadeja wrote on LinkedIn.
Situated at the former location of Koko Sushi, at 214 First Avenue, on the southeast corner of 13th Street, The Onion Tree Pizza Co. is currently navigating the liquor licensing process in preparation for its grand opening.
This venture is not the couple’s first foray into the world of pizza.
The Onion Tree in Sea Cliff is known for serving elevated Indian cuisine within a laid-back atmosphere but stands out for its inclusion of traditional and innovative Pizza Napolitana on the menu. Among the offerings are the classic Pizza Margherita, the indulgent Quattro Formaggio, and the inventive Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza, among others.
Their prowess in pizza-making was recognized when they clinched First Place for their Margherita Pizza at the 2022 Pizza Pasta Northeast Expo in Atlantic City.
