Ritz NoMad Brings Double-Michelin-Starred Talent To New York

The two-starred chef will also be overseeing the rooftop bar 500 feet above Manhattan.

As the hotly-anticipated Ritz-Carlton NoMad nears completion, curious speculators have been eagerly awaiting further details. Set in one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in New York, the Ritz-Carlton NoMad has caught the eyes of the city by inviting double-Michelin-starred chef José Andrés to bring his restaurants home to the NoMad.

The Ritz-Carlton NoMad describes itself as a “Gathering place for the social, and an enclave for the sophisticated,” and their attitude towards their cuisine is no different. Recruiting one of the most sought-after chefs currently working in the industry, the NoMad is elevating its culinary footprint by bringing in two of Andrés’ signature restaurants.

The first of Andrés’ restaurants to arrive at the NoMad is the famous Zaytinya. Founded by Andrés in DC in 2002, Zaytinya offers “an innovative mezze menu inspired by Turkish, Greek and Lebanese cuisines served up in a sleek and modern setting.” Thanks to Andrés’s strong leadership and vision, Zaytinya quickly established itself as a top DC dining destination – becoming a favorite among local diplomats and ambassadors. Zaytinya also boasts one of the most robust selections of Turkish, Greek, and Lebanese wines that can be found in the country, making their upcoming New York outpost a must for NoMad oenophiles.

Also coming to the NoMad will be Andrés’s iconic restaurant The Bazaar. Described as “A carefully curated theatre of shared plates”, The Bazaar is known for dazzling guests with its ingeniously innovative cuisine and the the theatrical presentation with which it is served. A tribute to the chef’s Spanish roots, The Bazaar invites guests from around the world in indulge in a bold, playful atmosphere where anything his possible.

As the owner of Think Food Group, José Andrés operates over 18 fine-dining restaurants across the globe. In 2003 he opened what would end up becoming one of his most popular ventures – minibar. Becoming the first restaurant of his to earn two Michelin stars (a feat he would later repeat in 2019 with Somni), minibar put Andrés on the map and quickly won him celebrity status. Named as one of Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People” in both 2012 and 2018, Andrés is a titan of the industry and New Yorkers are thrilled to see him bring his talent to the NoMad.

In addition to his two restaurants, Andrés will also be overseeing the scenic rooftop bar atop the NoMad, where guests can enjoy signature cocktails over 500 feet in the air and relish the skyline of Manhattan.

Outside of culinary options, the NoMad will also house the signature 6,800 square feet Ritz-Carlton Spa and Fitness Center, just in case you’re not relaxed enough already. Expected to arrive in early 2022, the Ritz-Carlton NoMad promises to be one of the city’s most exciting hotel concepts in recent memory.
