Potluck Club is a new concept from owners Stephen Ng and Ricky Nguyen. Stephen previously served as a principal owner of Faan, a popular Asian fusion restaurant located on Smith Street in Brooklyn. Faan opened up to great success in 2001 and operated for over 10 years before sadly closing down in 2011. Faan would later be replaced by a Burger Joint, and today the space now functions as a gym.

Now though, Stephen and Ricky are in the initial phases of launching a brand new restaurant called Potluck Club. Envisioned as an Asian restaurant, Potluck Club will be opening up at 133 Chrystie Street. The space was formerly licensed as a produce supplier, and was inhabited by Ming King Produce Company, which is now closed. The space is located directly across the street from Sara D. Roosevelt Park, between Delancey and Broome Street.

The restaurant is expected to sort an assortment of different dishes, including appetizers like endive salad and pork & chive potstickers, as well as main dishes like salt & pepper chicken with scallion biscuits, noodles and pork, tiger shrimp with walnuts, crispy drunken chicken, oyster mushroom rice rolls and braised short ribs. The space will feature one food counter as well as a bar on the ground floor, is expected to be able to seat a total of 65 guests inside.

Stephen and Ricky are currently getting ready to apply for a beer and wine license for Potluck Club. They are proposing operating hours of 11:00 AM – 12:00 AM Monday through Friday, and 9:00 AM – 12:00 AM Saturday and Sunday, with a planned happy hour that is expected to end at 8:00 PM. At this moment, Stephen and the team are too early into the project to announce further details.
