The Noortwyck is a brand new restaurant concept from sommelier Cedric Nicaise and Andrew Quinn. Described as “an elevated neighborhood restaurant focusing on delicious food and warm hospitality,” The Noortwyck will offer seasonally-driven food sourced exclusively from local producers.

As a certified Sommelier, Cedric has been leading the experience at the prestigious 11 Madison Park Restaurant. Having earned four stars from the New York Times and a rarely-bestowed three stars from Michelin, 11 Madison Park is the flagship restaurant of Make It Nice Hospitality, of which Cedric is the Director of Operations. Cedric’s leadership and vast depth of knowledge has earned him a reputation as one of New York’s foremost experts in wine, and his latest project is sure to be a reflection of this expertise.

Moving into the space at 289 Bleecker Street, The Noortwyck will be replacing The Loyal in the very heart of Greenwich Village. Open for nearly a decade, The Loyal was Chef John Fraser’s signature neighborhood brasserie. Known for serving elevated American dishes and cocktails in a charming, upscale restaurant, The Loyal aptly cultivated a loyal following dedicated to Chef Fraser’s unique takes on American cuisine.

Thankfully, Cedric and Andrew are well-equipped to inherit the lofty reputation left behind by Chef Fraser. Featuring a lavish 3,150 square feet of space between the ground floor and basement, the location is well suited to meet the needs of the Make It Nice Team. Open daily from noon to midnight all week, The Noortwyck will be able to comfortably seat up to 73 guests at one time. While further details about The Noortwyck are still emerging, you’re definitely going to want to come thirsty when you visit. Just be sure to mask up and stay safe as we continue to endure a difficult Winter.
