Matsunori Sushi Restaurant is a brand new concept from restaurant owner Wen Jing Chen. Opening up at 151 Allen Street, right across the street from Rivington, Matsunori is an exciting new concept that is sure to attract the attention of hungry locals.

Matsunori appears to be a small but intimate affair. Opening daily from 5:00PM – 10:00PM (and 11:00PM on Saturday), the Matsunori experience will be elegant and pared down at the same time. They haven’t confirmed whether or not it will be a full omakase (chefs choice) yet, but signs indicate that it will be a premium experience nonetheless. With only room for 8 seats, Matsunori will be accessible by reservation only.

Matsunori will be replacing So Sarap at 151 Allen Street. So Sarap is a popular Filipino pop-up that moves from place to place according to their schedule. For more information on where So Sarap may be moving next, be sure to follow them on their website.

At the moment, Chef Chen is keeping the further details of his new restaurant close to his chest until he’s ready for the official opening. Be sure to follow along for further updates, as once they start accepting reservations it may be too hard to get a spot later.
