Co-owners James Hurst and Hayden Tobi are looking to add a backyard space, remove their counter seating and reconfigure its seating, according to an application just submitted to Manhattan Community Board 3. The application will be reviewed June 12. The owners told Hell Gate that it is meant to be a casual local hang out spot with fair prices. Its select menu, according to Instagram, includes three burgers ($7-$10), two chicken sandwiches ($12), grilled cheese ($5), an all-day breakfast sandwich ($7) and a few sides including fries ($4), onion rings ($5), hash browns ($3) and shisito peppers ($5). All burgers can be made vegan for an extra $3.

“I think a lot of places around here are priced for the Friday and Saturday night crowd,” Hurst told Hell Gate. “You don’t have to charge so much, and you can still make enough money. You don’t have to be too greedy. I think people appreciate that.”

The duo added, “We really want to do something for the people who actually live in the neighborhood. A place where you go on a Tuesday night. An extension of your apartment, where you can hang out and meet your friends. That’s really what we want to cultivate.”
