L’Artusi has been widely celebrated in New York ever since it first opened in December 2008. Named after famed chef Pellegrino Artusi, L’Artusi presents a modern take on traditional Italian cuisine and combines comfort with creativity to generate an unforgettable dining experience. Featuring a walk-in cellar with over 2,500 expertly curated bottles of wine, L’Artusi endeavors to offer a beverage program that demystifies Italy, the most diverse viticultural nation in the world.

L’Artusi was founded by August Cardona, a Finance worker with an undeniable connection to the hospitality industry and a passion for food and wine. He launched his first restaurant, dell’anima, in 2007, and the success of that restaurant enabled him to open L’Artusi the next year. Featuring the cuisine of Executive Chef Joe Vigorito and Executive Pastry Chef Janee Humphreys, L’Artusi has cultivated a widely-recognized reputation for excellence throughout its 15 years of successful operation.

Today, the L’Artusi team operates multiple elevated concepts across the city, including their curated cocktail concept b’artusi, as well as Anfora, and Via Porta. Now though, the team is getting ready to launch their latest concept, L’Artusi Supper Club. According to their recent liquor license application, the L’Artusi team has “more demand that [they] can fulfill at L’Artusi, and “would like to create a ‘L’Artusi Supper Club” that allows for the L’Artusi experience in a more intimate, communal, family-style setting.” Their intention with the new supper club concept is to “offer both classic and new L’Artusi dishes created by our long-time chef, Joe Vigoritto” as well as hosting “winemaker dinners, guest chef dinners, and also private dinners from time to time.”

L’Artusi Supper Club is currently slated to take over the space at 105 Christopher Street. The location was previously occupied by I Sodi, whose expansion into a larger Bleecker Street location was covered by yours truly back in November. The location offers approximately 960 square feet of space on the ground floor, and 863 square feet of space in the basement, which is ideal for the team’s plans for an intimate and personal supper club experience. In total, the space is estimated to seat a total of 36 guests inside at one time.

At the moment, the team is now getting ready to apply for a full liquor license for L’Artusi. They are currently proposing operating hours of 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM, every day, seven days a week. For regular updates as the story develops, you can follow L’Artusi on Instagram.
