Now, it appears that HYUN founder Jaehyun Kim is gearing up to open a new restaurant in the heart of the West Village. While details are still scarce, the unnamed project is slated to arrive at 137 Seventh Ave, in the building previously occupied by Dominque Ansel Kitchen.

Jaehyun Kim is an up-coming titan in the culinary industry. The founder of the Michelin-rated HYUN, Jaehyun earned national acclaim with his precise management of the exclusive restaurant. Dedicated to bringing New York the world’s best Wagyu, Hyun is a truly elite experience reserved for only the most significant occasions.

With expertly sourced Japanese A5 Wagyu Beef (the highest grade available), HYUN has gone the extra mile by developing a proprietary vacuum sealing system that ensures that the chefs never need to freeze the beef. Offering both an in-house omakase beef experience as well as a delivery service that brings their premium cuts right to your door, HYUN guarantees that wherever their guests are they will still be sure to get a cut of the finest beef that can be found in Manhattan.

Moving into a new location on 7th Avenue. Jaehyun’s latest project will be replacing Dominque Ansel Kitchen, a popular bakery that was known for serving extravagant French deserts and pies. Thankfully, Dominque is simply moving uptown to the Flatiron district and is expected to relaunch sometime in the next quarter.

With three floors totaling 2,550 square feet of space, the space is appropriate for Jaehyun’s vision of an intimate and exclusive Korean eatery. Featuring a chefs counter on the second floor, the new restaurant is expected to be a little bit more accessible than HYUN and can seat up to 56 guests at one time. While further details are still forthcoming, we will be sure to update you as Jaehyun makes further progress on the project.
