The Mouth is a new restaurant and bar located adjacent to Brooklyn Art Haus in Williamsburg. Its Art Deco design is complemented by vintage and retro touches throughout. The Mouth will provide flavors of Mediterranean-inspired culinary delights, a uniquely crafted cocktail and natural wine program, and artistic inspiration courtesy of the restaurant and bar’s very own rotating art gallery.

Chef’s Naama and Assaf Tamir are the brother-sister duo and co-owners of Lighthouse Restaurant in Brooklyn and have lent their culinary creativity to the menu at The Mouth. Born and raised in Israel, Naama & Assaf moved to New York City to work in the hospitality industry at places like Employees Only, Macao Trading Co., Craft Steak, Mainland, and Smith and Mills. In 2011 they opened Lighthouse in Williamsburg, a sustainable, socially responsible, and forward-thinking restaurant. They are involved in green initiatives at Bar & Restaurant Alliance, are producers of Umami Food and Art Festival, the co-founders of No Free Lunch sustainability platform, a co-founder of Unilever’s #FairKitchens movement, and are frequent guest speakers. Now they will bring their creativity and passion for sustainability to the menu for The Mouth.

Co-Executive Director & Beverage Director Isaac Bush is an international performer and practitioner based in New York City and the Co-Executive Director of Brooklyn Art Haus. His work as a practitioner fueled the birth and continued programming of The Circle Theater of New York (CTNY) and SMPL MCHN (simple machine) of which he serves as Artistic Director. Bush also co-founded and is a company member of China-based company, International Spice. His work has been seen in NYC, across Europe, Brazil, and China with numerous collaborators and producing organizations. As a performer, Isaac has worked both internationally and regionally in the U.S., on tour, and extensively in his home base of New York City. Bush holds an MA from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), BA from Hope College, a Certificate from the British-American Drama Academy, and a Certificate from the GLCA New York Arts Program. Isaac serves as the Beverage Director of The Mouth. As a Manager, Maitre d and Beverage Director, Isaac was part of the opening team of Graydon Carter’s MONKEY BAR in Midtown East, Corbin & King’s THE DELAUNAY in London, Pisticci and Wild Edibles in NYC.

Co-Executive Director Alex Orthwein is a Producer, Actor, and Musician based in New York City. He has a strong background in immersive theater having worked at The Sterling Renaissance Festival, the Mad Hatter G&T Party Bus, and Macy’s Santaland. Alex comes from a tradition of physical comedy, including the worlds of commedia dell’arte, and clown. Alex has also worked on camera, both in commercials and TV and as a performer in Clown Band. Alex’s life as a musician often coalesces with his acting career. He has served as musical director and composer for many film and television productions. While Alex has produced several projects over the years, his true inspiration came when he plotted a plan to host regular tribute concerts at his apartment in the vein of the tradition he had come from. This sense of intimate connection and community has inspired Alex to produce regular apartment shows and work towards creating a commercial space that carries the spirit of this culture.

The Mouth’s culinary collaboration with Lighthouse Restaurant places emphasis on sustainably sourced, local ingredients for dishes that are ideal for sharing. Indulge in bites like Zucchini Fritters with yogurt and chili oil, share house-made dips or a meat and cheese board with friends. Vegetarians and vegans can delight in The Mouth’s several meatless offerings including the Fig Pocket with red cabbage, mango, and tahini, and the Roasted Veggie Plate. You can’t go wrong with sustainably sourced, refreshing Fluke Crudo, or the classic Mediterranean Lamb Meatballs served with yogurt and pita. Mouthfuls like the Meat Pocket with kielbasa, romesco, and cilantro, or the Cheese Pocket featuring halloumi, honey, and arugula are served with your option of root vegetable fries, a fresh salad, or a house pickle medley. Guests can also experience locally sourced lamb and goat cheese. Dessert includes seasonal Pavlova, Baklava with Date Glaze, and freshly baked Cookies.

Beverages include a range of Partners Coffee options from organic drip coffee, specialty lattés, to cappuccinos, or matcha or French press. For cooler options, The Mouth will offer iced tea, hibiscus iced tea, fresh lemonade, and Haus ginger beer. The Mouth’s curated cocktail menu offers creative libations including the Dahlia Spritz, Shibuya Roll Call, Maria Candelaria, Tinderella, Kahlo-Colada, Mr. Bogart, and the Martini des Artistes. Beverages also include an all-natural, rotating selection of internationally focused, red, white, rosé, orange, and sparkling wines. Beer and cider enthusiasts can enjoy a locally-focused brew list.

The Mouth Days & Hours of Operation are Tuesday-Sunday: 9AM – 10PM and closed on Monday’s (Available for Private Events). The Coffee Bar is open from 9AM – 3PM. Happy Hour is Tuesday – Sunday: 3PM – 6PM. Dinner Hours atr 6PM – 10PM and Nightlife Hours are 10PM – 2AM.
