The Chick Inn got its start in December 2020, in Hamilton Heights. Owned by Fumo veteran Steve Gallo, The Chick Inn opened up a year ago at 3508 Broadway between West 143rd and West 144th Streets.

The Chick Inn’s signature dish is their roast chicken. Seasoned with a Peruvian rub, then charred on outside and served with cilantro sauce, the chicken is served alongside a bevy of sides that include Cajun waffle fries, sweet potato mash, sweet corn, and spicy vodka rice. The restaurant also serves classic sandwiches like the spicy ranch chicken sandwich and the lobster roll. The Chick Inn even offers healthier salads and vegan alternatives for any customers with potential dietary restrictions.

Previously only available Uptown, The Chick Inn’s latest expansion represents a significant step forward for the young restaurant. With only one restaurant currently operational, The Chick Inn team is preparing to open up their second location in Kips bay, at 415 3rd Avenue, according to a liquor license application uncovered by What Now New York.

The new Chick Inn will be replacing Bistango Restaurant, which previously operated at the space. Bistango was a popular Kips Bay Italian restaurant that offered specialty pastas, pizzas, and burgers alongside a carefully curated wine menu. While Bistango closed down at 415 3rd Avenue, it has since reopened as part of The Kimberly Hotel at 145 East 50th.

At the moment, it is not clear when exactly Gallo and his team expect to open. The application for the license was only filed last week, which indicates that there is still some time before they will be ready to fully announce the launch. In the meantime, if you’re able to swing by Hamilton Heights, be sure to check out the original location to see what their chicken is all about.
