That’s right folks, chicken! And if you aren’t currently going crazy for chicken, you will soon. Mad For Chicken, the enchanting Korean chicken chain from Flushing, is gearing up to open a brand new location in Chelsea later this year.

Mad For Chicken, also referred to as MFC, began in Flushing NY in 2005. Patrons were immediately struck by the potency of their sauces and the signature “crunch” of MFC chicken. For years, Flushing locals knew that MFC was the go-to spot for events of all sizes. It wasn’t until 2020 though that the secret got out. As demand for their unique chicken skyrocketed, they opened their doors to franchising opportunities and began expanding outside of Queens.

As part of this expansion, MFC will be opening its first Manhattan location at 153 8th Avenue, replacing the Bareburger that previously occupied the spot. Bareburger fans can rest easy though, as the Chelsea Bareburger simply moved up two blocks to 184 8th Avenue. Operated by franchisee Clinton Oh, the new MFC features 2,205 square feet of space on the main floor and will allow for a spacious indoor dining arrangement.

At the moment, there are three other MFC locations currently open that you can try out if you are curious. Their original Flushing location at 157 Northern Boulevard is still thriving, and they have two other locations in Sunnyside and Bayside that you can visit as well. Keep an eye on their website for further information as they continue their new expansion.
