Happy Friday, New York! It’s the last article of the week, and hopefully by the time you’re reading this you’re ready for your weekend too. Truly, there are few pleasures in life like clocking out after a hard day’s work, if only we all had some place to go after we clock out…
Thankfully, a new bar is opening that seeks to address that exact concern. Clock Out NYC is the latest project from hospitality expert Dresden “Dre” Baluyot. As a multidisciplinary entrepreneur with a particular passion for building relationships, Dre has been working in New York hospitality for years, bringing to life some of the neighborhood’s most exciting concepts.
As the owner of DB Consulting Group, Dre founded the highly popular Cabin NYC in 2019. Putting together a cozy full-service bar with a cottage-like atmosphere, Dre invented a rustic respite in the heart of one of New York’s busiest neighborhoods. Serving up unique specialty cocktails and mouthwatering American Classic dishes like truffle fries, mac ‘n cheese, and burgers, The Cabin is a warm and inviting getaway from the pressures and winter winds of New York.
Now, Dre will be opening his next project, Clock Out, at 191 Orchard Street. Previously occupied by a sports bar called The Sixth Ward, the space had been vacant for years and locals were wondering when such a prime spot would finally be snatched up. Clock Out is envisioned by Dre as a “full-service restaurant serving sharable plates of American comfort food with a sprinkle of Latin/Asian flare.”
With a capacity of 90 guests between the indoor and outdoor dining areas, Dre’s new bar will be as spacious and inviting as The Cabin – if not more so. The current proposed hours for operation will be 11AM – 2AM Sunday through Wednesday, and 11AM – 4AM Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. However, Dre is still in the process of applying for Clock Out’s liquor license, so those hours are subject to change if the Community Board finds any potential conflicts. Regardless, Dre promises to be a good steward to the neighborhood, and hasn’t had any negative incidents at his older bars. As a veteran hospitality expert, Dre considers it a serious priority to avoid disturbing the quality of life of his neighbors.
