G’s Cheesesteaks is opening a location at new 6 Avenue B at Houston Street, according to EV Grieve.
Owner Giacomo Pisano told What Now NY, “The goal is going to be first week of April, as long as permitting goes well, but we’ll be open no later than May so right in time for summer!”
This new Lower East Side outpost is joining the ranks of their storefronts in Staten Island, Point Pleasant, and Toms River. There is also a food truck, which is available for private event bookings and parties.
Their website shares the following origin story: “Giacomo Pisano, CEO & Founder of G’s Cheesesteaks, who established the brand in 2015 at the age of 20 years old which had started in the first location in Staten Island. Giacomo comes from a long line of restaurants starting back to his grandfather, Giacomo Sr. who made his way to America from their hometown, Carini Sicily. His grandfather set the stepping stones to the business by opening the first pizzeria in the family called “Dana’s pizza” that then led to our CEO’s father, Jack to expand the business of pizza, alongside with Giacomo Jr’s uncle Angelo Genova who started the chain, “The Pizza Box” which is based out of Pennsylvania. Giacomo’s other Uncle Joe Riggio had taken over the legacy of the famous NY “Pizza Suprema” that his father Sal Riggio had also started, that is located in NYC.”
Menu items include various cheesesteaks as well as appetizers, tenders, wings, chicken, and burgers.
