The Dickens is a brand new bar concept from the venerable PMAC’S Hospitality Group. Founded by Dublin-born brothers Michael and Patrick McNamee, PMAC’s Hospitality is one of the city’s leading Irish hospitality companies. Over the past decade, the team has brought to life some of Manhattan’s best Irish bars, such as Tanner Smith’s, Vida Verde and Dutch Fred’s, The Three Monkeys, The Mean Fiddler and Haswell Greens. The two brothers have a long family history in the hospitality business, and their core values stem from a desire to make every customer feel like a part of that family.

Now, the PMAC’s Team will once again be debuting an entirely new bar concept. Dubbed The Dickens, their latest bar will be opening up at 783 8th Avenue. Formerly home to Latitude Bar and Grill, the space is quite impressive and features three distinct floors for guests as well as a rooftop. The space has a maximum capacity of 296 guests and will feature three different stand-up bars on every floor.

The Dickens is described by the team as an “upscale, yet approachable cocktail lounge” that will offer fresh and unique cocktails as well as sharable small plates, like tacos, flatbreads, sliders and burgers, charcuterie boards, salads, and spring rolls. With three different floors of designated fun, the location is quite spacious and perfect for groups, special celebrations, corporate events and more. The restaurant’s crowning feature is sure to be its rooftop though, which will be able to seat up to 40 guests and is expected to have its own margarita bar, and will offer thrilling views of Midtown Manhattan.

The team is currently in the process of acquiring the necessary liquor license for the space, and is proposing operating hours of 11:00 AM – 4:00 AM every day, which is standard for the neighborhood and well-established groups like PMAC’s Hospitality. At the moment, the team is hard at work preparing the space for a Grand Opening, but you can follow the hospitality company on Instagram for updates on all their latest ventures.
