The Clown Car hospitality team submitted an application to acquire the ground floor space of the two-story commercial building at 183 Bowery in the Lower East Side. The team bills the unnamed concept as offering “bar food” such as wings and mac and cheese with live music entertainment.

Its proposed hours of operation of 4 p.m. until 2 a.m. between Sunday through Wednesday and 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. from Thursday through Saturday. It’s slated to offer 24 tables with 71 seats and a first-floor bar with 16 seats and a second floor bar with 14 seats.

Its proposed menu includes wings, mac and cheese, veggie pot pie, vegan cowboy noodles and frijoles charros.

The application was submitted by Matt Webber who is a Brooklyn-based co-owner of Clown Car, a “full service bar and restaurant production and consulting company that helps develop, design, build, operate and fun new and existing bars and restaurants.”

His portfolio includes The Soft Spot, The Narrows, Old Stanley’s, Birdy’s, Carmelo’s, Coyote Club and Twins Lounge. He also was involved with King Noodle, which has since shuttered.
