Baires Grill was established in 1999 in order to set out on a single dream: to bring the best possible Argentinean dining experience to Miami. Now, over 20 years later it’s safe to say that they more than accomplished their goal. Today, Baires Grill operates six unique locations across south Florida and continues to dazzle guests with their expertly crafted Argentinean dishes.
Previously only available in Miami, New Yorkers will soon find themselves sharing in an authentic South Beach experience when owner Gustavo Abudiab launches Baires Grill’s first-ever Manhattan expansion. Leaving Florida for the first time, Baires Grill will be opening up in a brand new space in Midtown at 350 West 50th Street, between Eighth and Ninth Avenue. The location was formerly home to Bann, Midtown’s premiere Korean barbecue restaurant, which operated for 15 successful years before finally shutting down in response to the pandemic.
As one of New York’s premiere fine dining establishments, the space that formerly housed Bann is well-equipped to meet the bold vision for Baires Grill. The location is expected to seat about 125 guests inside at one time, and there plans in place to add additional roadside seating and a sidewalk cafe, which would add an additional 74 seats around the perimeter of the restaurant.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to try out Baires Grill in Miami, then you can expect a delightful upscale dining experience that is modeled after an authentic Argentinean Steakhouse. Samples from the menu include appetizers like roasted cauliflower and homemade pate alongside main courses like lobster ravioli, linguini frutti di mare, a vegan burger, and of course their most popular option – the angus tomahawk for two. Baires Grill also offers an assortment of different cuts of meat served right from the grill, and guests can enjoy everything from short ribs and cowboy steaks to chicken breasts and tuna steaks. Additionally, Baires Grill is especially popular for its happy hour and cocktail program, which will of course be replicated at the New York expansion.
To get the ball rolling, owner Gustavo Abudiab is currently getting ready to meet with the community board in order to acquire the necessary liquor license he needs for the space. He is currently proposing operating hours of 12:00 PM – 1:00 AM every day, seven days a week. While the team has not revealed their timeline for opening, you can follow Baires Grill on Instagram for updates on all their new projects.
