Founded by industry veterans with a passion for authentic Sichuan cuisine, Mala Hot Pot is set to redefine the hot pot dining experience. Co-founder Kevin Chen, formerly of the Michelin Bib-Gourmand recognized Tang Hotpot, along with Executive Chef Yi Bin Yang, a Sichuan native with over 15 years of hot pot expertise, have curated a menu that highlights the bold flavors and quality ingredients characteristic of Sichuan cooking.

Diners can expect a menu featuring premium cuts of meat, fresh seafood, and locally sourced produce. Signature dishes include the tender and fresh duck blood, a rarity in the market, and the Nine-Grid Blind Box Platter, offering a selection of meats and vegetables with a chance to taste the luxurious Japanese Kobe beef.

The restaurant’s minimalist decor and modern industrial design create a welcoming atmosphere for urban diners in its 2,200 square-foot space, accommodating 78 seats. A full bar, signature cocktails, and a variety of beverages complement the spicy and flavorful hot pot, ensuring a well-rounded dining experience.

“We are excited to bring a genuine Sichuan hot pot experience to New York City,” said co-founder Kevin in a statement. “Our focus on high-quality ingredients, authentic recipes, and a modern dining environment sets us apart and we can’t wait for our guests to experience the unique flavors and warmth of Mala Hot Pot.”
