Sogno Toscano is a Single Italian Brand distributer that supplies America with a true authentic taste of Italy. The company began as a family farm in Bolgheri Italy, located in a Tuscan region known as “Super Tuscan” thanks to its incredibly fertile soil and centuries-old trees. Sogno Toscano has been producing some of the region’s highest-quality olive oil since 1923, and in 2007 they began introducing their products to the best restaurants and chefs in the United States, partnering with surrounding suppliers to produce the highest-possible quality products.

Today, Sogno Toscano supplies numerous New York restaurants with truly fresh and authentic Italian meats, cheeses, pastas, beans, sweets, and of course oils. More recently, owner Pietro Brembilla decided to utilize his resources and experience to launch an authentic Italian restaurant concept of his own design. Established in the heart of New York’s West Village at 17 Perry Street, Sogno Toscano set out to recreate a true Italian experience with delicious gourmet foods and imported Italian wines and coffee, combined with a warm, sociable experience. Offering a traditional menu of recipes handed down though generations with made-from-scratch foods, Sogno Toscano has quickly established itself as one of the most successful Italian restaurant and cafe experiences in the West Village.

Since launching their flagship restaurant concept on Perry Street in 2021, Sogno Toscano has begun expanding with new restaurants in multiple locations. Our crack team at What Now Los Angeles even broke the story of their planned west-coast expansion earlier this May, and now it appears that the team is gearing up to develop a brand new restaurant space for Chelsea.

According to a recent liquor license application submitted to Community Board Four, Sogno Toscano is currently getting ready to develop a brand new space at 506 West 28th Street. The location is presently occupied by Il Piccolo Ristoro Cafe, and is expected to seat about 16 guests inside at one time. Additionally, there are plans in place to develop an outdoor space (that is not a sidewalk cafe), that will seat an extra 33 guests while providing them with a comfortable space to watch the bustling Chelsea foot traffic walk by.

According to a sample menu provided with their application, Sogno Toscano will offer both a coffee bar and wine bar experience. The coffee bar will serve a wide variety of beverages including espresso, cappuccinos, latte macchiatos, shakeratos, and plenty of tea as well as assorted Italian pastries. Sogno Toscano will also serve an array of authentic Italian dishes, including schiacciate sandwiches, Italian salads, and meat and cheese experiences. The wine bar meanwhile will offer a robust selection of imported Italian red and white wines, as well as classic cocktails like the greatly beloved negroni sbagliato.

Before the Sogno Toscano team can continue development though, they must first acquire the necessary liquor licensing. They are currently getting ready to meet with the community board and are proposing operating hours of 8:30 AM – 11:00 PM every day, seven days a week.
