The 16-year-old concept boasts a robust selection of Italian market products as well as an all-day cafe and restaurant. The new spot in Soho is a 20,000-square-foot space that is slated to offer a 200-seat restaurant in addition to its marketplace and cafe. The news about the opening of the Soho outpost comes on the heels of the team announcing that it plans to expand its presence in North America over the next five years. It is slated to open 20 locations around the country, as well as expand its flagship by the spring, said Tommaso Brusò, the company’s North American CEO, in a press release.

The novel concept currently boasts 49 locations worldwide, including its downtown and Flatiron district locations in New York City. The restaurant menu includes antipasti, salads, pasta, Neapolitan-style pizza, seafood, meats, and vegetarian entrees, as well 300 bottles of Italian wine and cocktails, from Negronis to espresso martinis, while the cafe offers coffee, pastries, and Roman-style pizza.

Founder Oscar Farinetti opened the very first store in Torino, Italy, in 2007. By 2010, the team brought their concept overseas and opened the first American outpost at 200 Fifth Avenue, located right across Madison Square Park. The team partnered with famed Italian-American chefs and restaurateurs Mario Batali, Joe Bastianich, and Lidia Bastianich to open up shop in the US.
