Spin Ping Pong is making waves in the city as “The original ping-pong social club”. The concept was established in 2007 by best friends Jonathan Bricklin and Franck Raharinosy, who started throwing weekly ping pong parties in their effort to make the USA Olympic Team. Drawing in an eccentric range of artists, actors, musicians, bankers, broadcasters, and of course professional ping-pong players, Spin has quickly established itself as the premiere place to enjoy a ping-pong party regardless of your skill level.

Earlier this year, What Now New York broke the story that Spin would be moving into the legendary Caroline’s comedy club in Times Square, and now it appears that Spin is once again gearing up for a brand new expansion. The latest Spin is now expected to open at 25 Broad Street, between Beaver Street and Exchange Place. The location was formerly home to Bobby Van’s, a popular New York steakhouse that had been operating at the location since 2006. The location offers an impressive 7,000 square feet of space and Spin will be occupying both the ground floor and basement.

Once the new location opens, guests can look forward to an innovative ping-pong experience backed by a state-of-the-art restaurant and bar program. As ping-pong is a social game, Spin endeavors to offer a food and beverage program that guests can enjoy with friends in-between rounds of ping-pong. Their popular Spin Cafe offers a wide variety of American classics like pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and plenty of shareable starters. Spin also offers a robust cocktail menu alongside a large selection of beer and wine. And for my fellow New York teetotallers, you’ll be happy to learn that Spin also serves six unique spirit-free cocktails and non-alcoholic beers.

Of course, Spin must now acquire the necessary liquor license in order to bring their vision to fruition. They are currently proposing operating hours of 8:00 AM – 12:00 AM Sunday through Thursday, and 8:00 AM – 1:00 AM Friday and Saturday. Additionally, fans can look forward to the soon-to-be-launched Times Square expansion, which is currently listed as “Coming Soon” on Spin’s website.
