BondST has been faithfully serving the neighborhood’s favorite sushi for over two decades. Established at 6 Bond Street in an historic multi-level SoHo-style Brownstone, BondST was founded in 1998 by owners Jonathan Morr, Jean-Marc Hounard, Michael Callahan, and Huy Chi Le. Occupying a beautiful three-story space with a dark wood trim, the restaurant launched to popular acclaim and quickly earned a reputation as one of the neighborhood’s best sushi spots.

BondST offers customers three distinct levels to enjoy, each with their own unique sushi experience. The ground floor houses the BondST lounge, an intimate and cozy space with its own sushi bar and banquettes set. The main floor meanwhile features a festive seventy-five seat dining room with a lively sushi bar and offers a delightful view of Bond Street’s historic cobbled street. The top floor offers an elegant and comfortable dining room as well as a private tatami room available for private events. Together, the three levels provide a unique New York sushi experience that is difficult to replicate.

Now though, after over 20 years of successful operation at Bond Street, BondST is finally gearing up for their first-ever expansion. Morr and his team are now preparing to launch the brand new BondST at 20 Hudson Yards, joining the new Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards. The restaurant will be taking over the space that currently houses Wild Ink, a beloved Asian Fusion restaurant that is slated to leave Hudson Yards some time next spring. Featuring 5,800 square feet of space and offering spectacular views of the new developments at Hudson yards, the new location is a suitable home for the venerable restaurant.

According to Crain’s New York, BondST is scheduled to open in March 2023, pending any unforeseen delays. At the moment though, Wild Ink is still open for business, so readers are strongly encouraged to check out the innovative restaurant before they finally depart for good. Of course, readers should also visit BondST at their Bond Street location to get a taste of what to expect next year. For more information, you can follow BondST on Instagram.
