The Singing Machine, a leading U.S.-based karaoke manufacturing company, is looking to debut its flagship karaoke bar called Butter Club in Manhattan next summer.

The team is seeking a 10,000-square-foot space on 111 W 24th St. in Nomad. The venue is looking to offer an immersive technology-driven karaoke experience with upscale food and beverages. The Singing Machine is a highly-rated U.S.-based karaoke machine manufacturer founded over 40-years-ago by Eddie Steele in California. It is now based out of Fort Lauderdale. The company’s chief revenue officer Bernardo Melo says that it will be opening a second outpost in Miami soon and hopes to open between 10–15 more outposts across the country in the next two to three years.

“We see this as a logical extension into a fast-growing market with a highly scalable model, where we can fully leverage our industry-leading karaoke technology, our innovation capabilities, and our global reach to best capitalize on this opportunity,” says Gary Atkinson, CEO of the Singing Machine, in a statement.

The separate itself from the slew of existing karaoke bars, Melo says it plans to meld the East Coast-centric private room concept with the West Coast-centric public stage concept. Both private and public spaces will be available at Butter Club.

“We want to create something next,” Melo tells What Now New York. “It’s not the common Instagrammable moment you see now with the neon lights and faux greenery.”

It is slated to offer internationally-inspired tapas including but not limited to cured meats and cheeses, salads, appetizers like crispy calamari and patatas bravas and main dishes like salmon, truffle carbonara and arroz caldoso. It will also have a high-end cocktail menu.

While searching for the ideal location to meet their needs, the team landed on the epicenter of the city that never sleeps. 

“We undertook a rigorous site selection process,” Atkins says. “We wanted a specific venue centrally located in a neighborhood that is well-established as a vibrant, up-and-coming entertainment destination that is densely residential and heavily touristed. NoMad met all of our key demographic criteria.”
