The second New York location of Experimental Group’s Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels wine bar opened last week in the city’s Flatiron neighborhood. Making its debut just after the SoHo location’s 10th anniversary, La Compagnie Flatiron brings the experience of a French dinner party to the historic neighborhood at 6 West 24th Street. Later this summer, the team will also announce the revival of Experimental Cocktail Club New York in La Compagnie Flatiron’s subterranean space – stay tuned!

La Compagnie Flatiron’s wine selection includes hundreds of bottles from small producers, with a heavy nod to French and American estates. Small and large groups alike will be able to enjoy a robust selection of Champagnes, many of which are available as magnums at a low markup. Accompanying the extensive by-the-bottle selection is a smattering of European, Australian, and American wines by the glass, including Barbichette’s “We’re Not Here to F*** Spiders” pét-nat rosé produced in partnership with Compagnie.

The menu also features an “Inclusive Beverages” section, offering alcohol-free libations including Leitz Sparkling Rosé Dealcoholized Wine, Tama Usagi Chilled Green Tea, and Curious Elixirs No. 8 Booze-Free Digestif.

Managing Partner and Executive Chef Eric Bolyard’s food menu includes a wide range of hyper-local and inventive seasonal bites and dishes, each chosen to complement the bar’s wine offerings. Guests will be able to find a selection of crunchy, low-and-no-waste snacks; cured, aged, and preserved meats, cheeses, and vegetables; meat and seafood skewers; and larger plates including Saffron Glazed Hamachi Collar, Beef Crudo, Spaghetti Au Yuzu, and Parisienne Gnocchi.

Designer and frequent Experimental Group collaborator Dorothée Meilichzon has imagined a bespoke setting for La Compagnie Flatiron, paying homage to wine, earth, and nature through her design choices. Guests will be welcome to mingle with sommeliers at the large marble bar or nestle into a banquette for a more intimate experience.

La Compagnie Flatiron will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 5PM, closing at midnight on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and at 1AM on Thursdays through Saturdays.
