This new venture will replace the group’s previous concept, El Primo Red Tacos, at 151 Avenue A. The change is slated to occur within the next few weeks, as reported by neighborhood insider EV Grieve.

A post to the Tacos El Porky Instagram page this month confrms the news. “Porky got his visa and soon we will be in Manhattan, NY!,” according to the social media post. “Al Pastor, Chicharon, Intestine, Meatballs, Roast and Chicken!”

El Primo Red Tacos, which specialized in birria tacos, had a short tenure of only four months at this location. Tacos El Porky, in contrast, will focus on tacos al pastor, a popular Mexican dish prepared with spit-grilled slices of pork.

The decision to introduce Tacos El Porky to New York City follows the brand’s success in Miami, where it operates at 16 West Flagler Street. The quick-service format, a characteristic of both El Primo and El Porky, will remain consistent, catering to the fast-paced New York dining scene.

Further details on the opening of Tacos El Porky in New York City will be available on the restaurant’s social media channels and website.
