A New York coffee institution, maman, is opening a new location in Tribeca with a smaller footprint and modified menu. Replacing Dr. Snood’s at 210 Murray St, {petite} maman is the brand’s smaller-scale café concept with select food items from the classic maman menu and some items unique to this location. With an emphasis on to-go dining, {petite} maman will cater to commuters, neighbors and anyone looking for a quick and delicious cup of coffee.

What Now NY connected with founder and Chief Branding Officer Elisa Marshall over email.

“We love the mixed use of the neighborhood from a business perspective. Many tourists come through, a density of Tribeca and Battery Park residents are very nearby, there are many large commercial buildings and it’s a wonderful mecca for families on the weekends with the sporting amenities across the street!”

According to reporting by Tribeca Citizen, {petit} maman will have six seats. Marshall owns maman with her husband. The duo have done all of the interior renovations to their businesses themselves.

“This specific location is very nostalgic and close to our hearts. My husband/business partner Benjamin Sormonte and myself lived right around the corner in Tribeca for 8 years. We frequented these shops, took our dog daily to the adjacent dog park and spent most of our weekends with our kids in that specific neighborhood.”

Petit Maman will have a floral covered ceiling by Floratorium and a mod bar under-counter espresso machine from La Marzocco. Guests who stop in at {petit} maman will walk on the remnants of plates. Chipped blue and white dishes from maman’s other locations will compose a one-of-a-kind mosaic floor.

{petit} maman will have an exclusive ‘maman pressé’ menu featuring a new menu of an assortment of delicious pressed sandwiches. Currently, {petit} maman has some more millwork to complete as well as electrical outfitting. Some design details are still being locked down at this time.

{petit} maman is aiming to open in mid-July.
