Formerly owned by Jean-Pierre Touchard, Vincent Caro has filed an application to Manhattan Community Board 4 to reopen one of Midtown’s oldest French restaurants called Tout va Bien. Formerly a family-run spot that opened in 1948, they’ve been known for serving traditional bistro fare, but closed during the pandemic.

With ownership now under Caro – a chef himself – the restaurant is in good hands, as he is behind two other beloved French fare spots: Jackson Height’s Bistro Eloise and Astoria’s Chez Olivia.

Their menu has a range of dishes such as hor d’oeuvres for $12-$20, mussels for $22, steak frites for $35, coq au vin for $25, and salmon provençale for $25. A liquor license is also under request for cocktails, beer, wine, cider, and champagne.

Located on 311 W 51st Street, its proposed hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 4pm to 1am, as well as Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 1am. It will offer 22 tables with 52 seats, as well as one service bar and one stand-up bar, which will have six seats.

What Now NY reached out to Caro, but did not immediately hear back for comment, and an opening date has not been announced yet.
