The bakery put up signage up on the Southeast corner of 12th Street and Broadway that it is coming soon. It will be replacing the space formerly occupied by The Bean, according to local blog EVGrieve. Patis Bakery is billed as a French-American artisanal café that specializes in pastries and breads, as well as offering sandwiches, coffee and freshly squeezed juices.

The certified Kosher kitchen is helmed by chef Moses Wendel and boasts outposts in heavily Jewish neighborhoods including Midwood and Crown Heights in Brooklyn, as well as nearby suburbs including New York’s Cedarhurst and Lawrence in New York, and New Jersey’s Lakewood, Lyndhurst and Teaneck.

It also boasts a few handful of Manhattan locations in the Upper West Side, Bryant Park, Grand Central, Soho, Times Square and the Upper East Side.

“Excellent bakery. Speciality is Kosher. Good selection and great quality,” one customer testimonial reads. “Even if you are not kosher still a great bakery. Never disappointed!!!”

“This is hands down my favorite kosher bakery,” another testimonial reads. “The variety of flavors and cuisines combined with traditional French technique turns out some truly scrumptious pastries.”

“Great addition to the area,” another reads. “The pistachio and almond croissants are to die for.”
