This Upscale Caribbean-Fusion Spot is Fighting to Come to Tribeca

Marc Celestin of Long Island’s Nuvo Kitchen is looking to bring his unique upscale Caribbean-fusion spot to Tribeca. But some locals are trying to stop it.
The Boiler Room will be open through the fall until its lease expires. Then it will relocate to 45 Second Ave. in the same neighborhood.
Its new outpost will be housed in the Brooklyn Height’s spot formerly occupied by the coveted cafe, Cranberry’s, which was cherished by its community for over 40 years.
Zach Neil, founder of the East Village’s Beetle House, is looking to debut a new mezcal spot. He is also bringing his Blockbuster Bar pop-up concept to New York.
