Proletariat is the latest new concept from Ravi DeRossi. While Ravi already operates a craft beer bar called Proletariat on St. Marks Place, the new Proletariat is envisioned as “a vegan Gastro Pub and pop-up restaurant with a rotating chef every 3 weeks.” An extension of the original Proletariat concept, the new bar will enhance the craft beer selection with a brand new array of plant-based dining options.

As the founder of Overthrow Hospitality, Ravi is dedicated to doing business with a purpose. Putting animal rights, workers’ rights, and social justice at the forefront of his thoughts, Ravi ensures that every venture he embarks on is ethically sound. Compassion is one of his company’s core values, and Ravi sees his restaurants as an opportunity to foster that compassion in other people with the power of an amazing meal.

In addition to Proletariat, Ravi operates quite a few different businesses in the neighborhood. Some of his most popular ventures include Cadence on 7th Street, Eterea on 5th Street, Soda Club on Avenue B, Ladybird on 7th Street, and Avant Garden on 7th Street. As a businessman with decades of experience, Ravi feels indebted to the neighborhood and is dedicated to providing residents with the best, sustainable food and drinks that can be found in the city.

The new Proletariat will offer a great selection of plant-based starters, entrees, and sides. Offering apps like Impossible Tacos and Corn Ribs, Proletariat will also serve unique entrees like Seitan Burnt Ends and Morel Mushrooms. Of course, Proletariat will also offer its signature rotating collection of craft beer, so whether you want a full meal or just want to hang out, Proletariat will have you covered.
