It’s not often that you encounter a restaurant that gives as much as they receive, but at The Migrant Kitchen, that’s just who they are.

Led partially by co-owner Daniel Dorado, he and his team have made it their mission to support immigrant workers and feed those who encounter food insecurities. So, when they opened their first location across the bridge in Brooklyn in October 2019, they made it a point to not only hire employees from different nationalities but to also donate a meal to a New Yorker in need for every meal purchased. They were also crucial in providing frontline healthcare workers with meals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their culinary specialty is a mix of Middle Eastern and Latin cuisine and features staples such as Homemade Hummus, Pork Shawarma, Fattoush Salad, and more.

Daniel Dorado confirmed Tuesday with What Now New York that Migrant Kitchen is set to hit the Upper West Side at 157 Columbus Avenue, in the heart of Lincoln Center, and the Upper East Side at 1433 1st Avenue by mid-November of 2021.

The deal was brokered by Steven E. Baker and Charles Rapuano of Winick Realty Group in June of 2021.
