Pink Taco first began in 1999 at the Hard Rock Café in Paradise, Nevada. Founded by entrepreneur Harry Morton, Pink Taco provides customers a one-of-a-kind experience defined by a “creative and original menu with farm-fresh ingredients and signature, crafted cocktails.”

Harry Morton was the son of Hard Rock Cafe co-founder, Peter Morton, and the grandson of Morton’s Restaurant Group founder, Arnie Morton. Sadly, Harry Morton passed away last year at the age of 38 from sudden cardiac arrest.

As Pink Taco continues to expand, they’ve brought on Stephan Schneider to step in and take over as COO. Schneider previously served as executive director of operations at Aasha Group, based out of Singapore. He also served as the director of restaurant operations in the United States at Hakkasan Group. In his new role, Schneider assumes responsibility for overseeing operations across all Pink Taco locations.

Their new NYC location is an exciting step forward for the brand, putting the restaurant steps away from the iconic theatre district. Designed by David Childs of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Times Square Tower was built in 2002 and remains one of the most notable buildings in the district.

According to Schneider, the new expansion “is a testament to the genuine hospitality, playfully presented food and drinks, and unforgettable atmosphere that Pink Taco provides thousands of guests every day around the country”.

While residents are eager to try out the new restaurant, it may be some time before they’re able to. As it stands, the company is expecting to open their Times Square location in Fall, 2022. In the meantime, curious customers would have to go all the way to Boston to find the nearest Pink Taco, which opened up in 2019.
