Sushi Lin is an exciting new sushi restaurant from chefs Lenny Lin and Ryan Lin. Lenny has been dedicating his life to the mastery of sushi since the early 2000’s, where he began as a helper in a traditional mom & pop sushi restaurant on the Upper West Side. Slowly training and honing his culinary skills, Lenny would move on to become the sushi chef at New Jersey’s popular Roppongi restaurant, and was soon able to move to New York where he joined the sushi bar at Blue Ribbon.

Eventually, Lenny discovered his his true passion for omakase sushi when he worked at the upscale contemporary Japanese restaurant known as 15 East. It was there that he would meet he future friend and partner, Chef Ryan Lin. A veteran sushi chef with years of experience, Ryan soon departed 15 East to pursue his passion for Japanese chef knives, and began honing his knowledge of the art by working at Yanagi Knife. It was there when a chance encounter introduced Ryan to Kissaki’s chef Mark Garcia, who offered him a position as sushi chef at his new omakase restaurant Gaijin. Named the best omakase restaurant of New York in 2017 by Thrillist, Ryan sharpened his skills at Gaijin and soon began planning a brand new restaurant concept with Lenny.

Begun at the end of 2017, Ryan and Lenny established Sushi Lin as a unique concept that offered specialized seafood sourced from Japan’s famous Tsujiki Market. Established at 335 Flatbush Avenue, the chef duo has been successfully introducing Brooklyn to their signature omakase experience, focusing on freshness, flavor, and texture. Now, after years of successful operation in Brooklyn, Lenny and Ryan are taking their popular omakase concept across the East River, where they intend to introduce Sushi Lin to a brand new neighborhood.

Sushi Lin’s newest expansion will see the restaurant opening up at 33 Greenwich Avenue. As an omakase concept, the space will be intimate and exclusive, offering only 550 square feet of space. The experience will be reserved for a maximum of 14 guests at one time, surrounding the central sushi bar. In addition to the omakase experience, guests can also order sushi and sashimi a la carte, as well as exclusive rolls and entrees.

At the moment, Lenny and Ryan are in the process of acquiring a new beer and wine license for Sushi Lin. They are proposing operating hours 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM on Sunday, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and 11:00 AM – 12:00 AM on Friday and Saturday. For more information, you can follow Sushi Lin on Instagram for updates as the new restaurant continues to develop.
