It will be heading to the nearby Empire Hotel at 44 W 63rd Street, according to reporting by the Commercial Observer.
The space will be nearly 12,000 square feet and will be located on the ground and second floors of the building, according to lease documents.
Rosa Mexicano opened its flagship restaurant on the Upper East Side in 1984. Now it has nine locations, including three in New York City, one in Las Vegas, one in Boston and one in National Harbor, Maryland. It also has spots in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida.
The New York City-based Mexican chain serves items such as ceviche, a variety of tacos such as crispy shrimp tempura and baja-style fish tacos, enchiladas, and entrees such as pork carnitas de cazuela.
The lease is expected to begin in January.
What Now New York has reached out to the Rosa Mexicano ownership team for more information on the relocation but had not heard back by the time of publication.
