The two landmarked buildings previously belonged to a couple who owned and operated a clock factory, and ODA envisioned this redevelopment as an opportunity to thoughtfully merge the two buildings in a way that pays homage to their heritage.

“62 Reade Street embraces modern living while preserving the site’s architectural integrity,” said Eran Chen AIA, founder of ODA in a statement. “As we do with all of our restoration projects, we drew inspiration from the history of the site and then incorporated that into the new concept for residences. We merged the two buildings as a way of maintaining their original character from the exterior while creating a fresh, seamless design from the inside out.”

For 62 Reade Street’s exterior, ODA worked closely with the Landmarks Preservation Commission to restore the pure limestone façade of each building and unite them through a new roof addition, creating a cohesive yet distinct exterior which showcases the original character of each structure – one less embellished and one more ornate.

62 Reade Street features six homes, ranging from 1,825 square feet to 3,115 square feet, that embrace open layouts and combine Tribeca’s industrial style with Italianate architecture and ornate details. Four four-bedroom residences span an entire floor, while a two-bedroom maisonette and three-bedroom penthouse boast two levels of living space. The crown penthouse is a full-floor duplex that features five private terraces to seamlessly merge indoor and outdoor living.

ODA designed the homes with a refined, elegant touch on Tribeca’s traditional loft-style living. The residences look and feel organic with natural materials and an airy palette of off-whites and beiges. The homes are equipped for modern living, while they’re also full of craftsmanship and original character that pays homage to the building’s past life. Each home boasts white oak floors, exposed beams and fluted glass steel doors that separate the open living space from the bedrooms. Open-style kitchens are made for entertaining with high-end Liebherr appliances, lacquer-based cabinetry and, the home’s jewel piece, a textured marble kitchen island. Bedrooms feature exposed brick walls, while tranquil bathrooms include Graff fixtures and an Italian porcelain tile.

Located between Broadway and Church Street, 62 Reade Street is in the heart of Tribeca, known for its industrial architecture, residential lofts and cobblestone streets lined with desirable retail. Future residents will have access to some of the best dining establishments in New York City, as well as multiple transit lines and green space at nearby City Hall Park, Thomas Paine Park and Washington Market Park.

The two to four-bedroom condominiums in 62 Reade Street start at $4,500,000, and Danny Davis of The Corcoran Group and Corcoran New Development are exclusively handling sales and marketing for the project. The condominium’s model residence is staged by Hovey Design and available to tour by appointment.
