Mahmun And Mom is a new restaurant concept from owner Manoch Preamwongsiri. Manoch is also the owner and operator of Tam Sang Thai Kitchen, a popular Thai restaurant. Established in 2018, Tam Sang is still going strong today and is known for serving up authentic Thai dishes with ingredients like organic chicken, grass-fed beef, and Berkshire pork.

Now, Manoch is gearing up to open up a brand new restaurant called Mahmun And Mom. Manoch is still very early into development and is not ready to present his vision for the space at this time, but his restaurant is confirmed to be opening up at 230 Seventh Avenue, between 24th and 25th streets. The location was formerly home to Chinese Fast Wok, a local Chinese restaurant that specialized in fast cuisine for take-out.

While Manoch has not revealed whether his restaurant will be more sit-down focused or fast-casual, the building is only equipped to seat about 15 guests inside, and at this time there are no additional plans to develop an outdoor cafe. Additionally, Mahmun And Mom will not feature a customer bar, although Manoch is attempting to acquire a beer and wine license for the space.

Manoch is now getting ready to meet with the community board to discuss the plans for his new concept, and he will be proposing operating hours of 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM every day, seven days a week. While Manoch still has a lot of work to finish before he’s ready to share further details, you can follow Tam Sang on Instagram for regular updates from the team.
