Noah Cohon is a well-established private chef currently working in New York. Over the past decade of his career, Noah has worked in recognizable restaurants like Roberta’s, GOFIO, Lalou, Birba, and has even served as a consulting corporate chef for Naya Group. In August 2022 he launched Noco Foods in order to further his work in the culinary world, and has developed food and beverage programs for multiple restaurants across the city.

Now, Cohon has just acquired the lease to a brand new space at 119 Essex Street where he intends to develop a new catering facility. The location previously housed the General Store by Char Sue, a popular Asian restaurant that offered Chinese roasted meats and steamed-bun sandwiches. The location, which will be reserved for private events, is expected to seat an estimated 54 guests inside at one time and will occupy both the ground floor and the cellar of the building.

As part of his liquor license application, Noah has provided a sample menu for his new concept, which has yet to be officially named. Sample options include salads like the baby kale green goddess and the roasted root vegetable salad, as well as breads, cheeses, cured meats, and pastas like linguine with market seafood and oxtail ragu lasagna. For proteins, options include seared tuna, duck breast, chorizo-stuffed calamari, and braised short rib, among numerous others. For dessert, guests can expect to enjoy delightful dishes like the seasonal fruit tart tatin, bread pudding, chocolate cake, and jam beignets.

Noah is also looking to acquire a beer, wine, and cider license for his new catering establishment, and is proposing operating hours of 12:00 AM – 2:00 AM every day, seven days a week. While he has not yet released any more information about his new project, you can follow Noah’s private company Noco Foods on Instagram for regular updates as well as information regarding opportunities to hire him to cater your next important event.
