Everybody’s got a song in their heart, and if you love fresh French pastries and state-of-the art cocktails then today’s restaurant is sure to make your heart sing.
Chanson is a popular New York based European café and bakery. Nestled in the heart of the Flatiron district, Chanson specializes in the art of dessert making and is known for serving delightful French breakfasts, brunches, and lunches. Founded by entrepreneur Cheng Chen in 2016, Chanson has been gladly serving New Yorkers avant-garde desserts for years.
Now, it appears that Chen is gearing up to launch a new concept at 355 Greenwich Street. It’s called Le Salon and is envisioned as a modern French Brasserie with a New American approach. With a patisserie in the front that will serve grab-and-go breakfasts and brunches from Chanson, Le Salon will also operate a full-service restaurant in the back.
Le Salon’s dine-experience will be lead by Executive Chef Frédéric Robert from The Peninsula New York. A decorated pastry chef with numerous Michelin awards under his belt, Robert’s cuisine will elevate the concept to lofty new heights. As if that wasn’t enough, Le Salon has also tapped Thyme Bar’s Jeremy LeBlanche to serve as Beverage Director. Utilizing the latest techniques in what is known as “Molecular Gastronomy,” LeBlanche’s innovative cocktail creations will be sure to dazzle patrons with an “unforgettable multi-sensory experience.”
Moving into the space at 355 Greenwich Street, Le Salon is replacing Maison Kayser, a popular French bistro that closed last year. Featuring an impressive 4,100 square feet of space, the new restaurant will be a warm and inviting space where guests can relax and enjoy some of the finest French cuisine in the neighborhood.
While the Chanson Patisserie is currently open for grab-and-go brunch and breakfast, you can follow their Instagram for more updates when Le Salon is fully operational. Currently in the process of a soft opening, curious customers can reserve a Valentine’s Day 5-course dinner through their website.
