Owners Mike Fadem, Marie Tribouilloy and Gavin Compton first opened Ops in 2016 in Bushwick at 346 Himrod Street beside Variety Coffee Roasters. The ownership team has an extensive background in the industry, with a portfolio of brands including restaurants like Achilles Heel, Estela, Buvette, The Pines and Variety Coffee Roasters.
Ops — named after the Roman goddess of the harvest — serves wood-fired pizzas and features a substantial wine list. Its pizza menu includes items like the juno, which consists of broccoli rabe, potatoes, provola and ricotta salata, and the cicero, which features onions, sharp provolone, preserved tomatoes and oregano. It also serves classics like margherita and marinara pizzas.
The pizza spot emphasizes using fresh ingredients and even shares the list of where it sources its ingredients on its website.
Documents filed with the permit application show that the new space will seat 54 in its indoor space and will have a seven-seat bar. There will also be sidewalk seating that will fit 16.
It is unclear precisely when Ops plans to open along Second Avenue.
What Now New York has reached out to the ownership for additional information about the spot but has yet to receive a response. Stay tuned for updates on this location.
