Bibliotheque is an exciting new bar that is scheduled to open up later this year at 54 Mercer Street. A triple feature, Bibliotheque will function as both a wine bar, cafe, and a bookstore. Offering an impressive range of wines, beers, coffee, and teas, Bibliotheque also intends to offer high quality sandwiches, boards, and snacks. Lastly, to top off the experience Bibliotheque will also sell a variety of different books, including fiction, non fiction, and poetry.

The new bar is owned by a father-and-son team consisting of Andrew A. Jacono and Andrew J. Jacono. Andrew A. Jacono, the senior member of the partnership, is an internationally acclaimed plastic surgeon who is known as the creator of the Minimal Access Deep-plane Extended facelift, a minimally invasive hybrid facelift that has helped revolutionize the world of facial plastic surgery. Andrew is an avowed philanthropist and has dedicated much of his life to providing pro-bono reconstruction surgery to disfigured victims of domestic violence. His son, Andrew J. Jacono, is a New York-based writer who founded The Spotlong Review, a new literary magazine dedicated to championing innovative work that explores human connection from unexpected angles.

Together, the the team will be bringing their brand new bar concept to 54 Mercer Street later this year. The location is rather spacious and boasts a total of 3,600 square feet, divided equally between the ground floor and basement, which will be used for storage. In total, the ground floor will offer enough space to seat 41 guests, while still providing patrons with enough space to comfortably browse the bookstore.

At the moment, the Jaconos are meeting with the community board to acquire a new beer and wine tavern license for Bibliotheque. The bar is expected to operate daily from 10:00 AM – 12:00 AM, seven days a week. While the team is still not ready to share further details, you can follow Andrew J. Jacono on Instagram for further updates as well insights into his literary magazine, which is currently taking submissions.

The interior design is amazing – quite the feeling of a library/book store that includes the added luxury of a coffee and wine bar.
