Bobby Khorrami is a well-established veteran restaurateur with decades of experience in the industry. Knowledgeable readers may recognize the name as the man behind Adella, a popular Hells Kitchen wine bar that celebrated the neighborhood’s rich history with a multitude of unique wane-tasting events. While Adella sadly closed during the Covid-19 pandemic, his Tenth Avenue gastropub The Harrow is earning praise for its stellar cocktail program and farm-to-table menu. Most recently, What Now New York covered Khorrami’s latest restaurant, Tokyo Tavern, which is currently expected to arrive later this year on Grand Street.

Now, Bobby and his team are once again getting ready to debut a brand-new concept. The restaurant, which has yet to be officially named, is currently expected to open at 29 Kenmare Street. The location was previously home to Goemon, a popular Japanese curry spot that opened up back in 2015 and has since moved to a new spot at 16 Delancey Street. The location offers an estimated 1,600 square feet of space on the ground floor and is expected to seat a total of 86 guests inside at one time, including an 11-seat Chef’s Counter for exclusive tasting experiences.

Bobby describes the new concept as an “American/French restaurant” and emphasizes that it will be a local spot with fresh, farm-to-table ingredients. While he and his team haven’t given the spot an official name yet, they have attached a sample menu to their recent liquor license application. According to the menu, the restaurant will serve a wide variety of freshly prepared French and American dishes. Primarily, the restaurant will serve three different menus according to the time of day and season. For brunch, guests can expect to enjoy seasonal fruits and berries alongside many different kinds of omelets as well as potato pancakes and a vanilla malt waffle. For lunch, the restaurant will serve a variety of salads to start and will offer items like gnocchi, chicken, and steak for entrees as well as a hearty selection of burgers and sandwiches. The dinner menu meanwhile will highlight a multitude of elevated French-inspired dishes like frog legs, duck liver mousse, salmon tartare, and escargot as well as entree dishes like beef short ribs, dug leg confit, poulet, and branzino.

Now, Khorrami and his team are currently getting ready to meet with the community board to acquire a new liquor license for the space. They are currently proposing operating hours of 11:00 AM – 12:00 AM Sunday through Tuesday, 11:00 AM – 2:00 AM on Wednesday, and 11:00 AM – 4:00 AM Thursday through Sunday. While Khorrami’s new restaurant is too early into development to have its own web presence at this time, you can pay a visit to The Harrow to preview the caliber of space that the team is capable of.
